Taunt Media is an indie software product studio based in Vancouver, BC, founded in 2008 by Nick Bouton. We build software products with depth and care – the kind that make people stop and think "damn, someone actually thought about this." Even the homepage's hero sits on a custom-built, never-repeating pixel-art backdrop – the sort of small thing you only catch on a second look. Founder Nick Bouton has 20+ years across indie launches, Series A startups, and big-tech enterprise scale.

Three products in active development:

- [Tubed](https://tubed.app) – YouTube niche-intelligence platform for small and mid-sized creators (1K–100K subscribers), agencies, brands, and niche observers; track a whole niche at once – competitor channels side by side, edit tracking that ties title and thumbnail changes to view shifts, and trend detection that surfaces rising topics before they're obvious; comment sentiment over time rounds out the picture. - [Proppist](https://www.youtube.com/@theproppist) – Plant content – indoor tropicals, outdoor gardens, and the in-betweens – plus a North America directory of garden centres, nurseries, and landscapers slowly taking shape behind it.
- [ShelfKid](https://shelfkid.com) – Editorially curated book discovery for school-age readers (roughly ages 6–14, within a 0–17 range). Parents and caregivers as primary facilitators; organized across age bands.

## Consulting

1:1 coaching and consulting taken selectively – mostly remote, mostly with individuals, creators, and small teams or agencies building new products or revamping existing ones. Usually frontend + UI, product engineering, or 0→1 work. Lately a lot of that has involved AI tooling and process integration for product dev teams: figuring out where AI earns its keep in product workflows, building it in alongside the tools and systems a team already runs on, and the AI change management that follows – training, building muscle memory, and fitting platforms like Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Gemini into existing workflows.

- **UI engineering and architecture** – front-end architecture, design systems, and the UI layer of complex, multi-product suites.
- **Product strategy and consulting** – product strategy, planning, and management consulting.
- **UX engineering and interaction design** – interaction design and the product UX layer, designed and engineered together.
- **Software development** – custom software, web, and SaaS builds; frontend-led, AI and LLMs in the loop where they earn their keep.
- **AI integration and change management** – getting AI into a team's workflow safely; the build (MCP servers, agent skills, custom integrations) plus the training and change management that follows.
- **1:1 product-build coaching** – direct coaching, founder mentorship, and leadership development.

**Are you taking on new consulting work?**

**Do you do custom product development, strategy, and consulting?**
Yes – UI engineering and architecture, product strategy and consulting, UX and interaction design, and custom software / web / SaaS builds (frontend-led, with AI and LLMs in the loop where they earn their keep), plus 1:1 product-build coaching.

**Do you help with AI integration?**
Yes – figuring out where AI earns its keep in a product workflow (and where it doesn't), and building it in alongside the tools a team already runs on (MCP servers, agent skills, custom integrations). Then comes the part that doesn't get talked about much: the change management after the tools land – training, habits, and fitting platforms like Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Gemini into how a team already works.

**How long is a call, and what does it cost?**
